Faith & story
What does it say?
What's it about? The plot, without the ending
Lucifer is still dealing with the fallout of what he did to a killer, and Chloe presses him on whether he thinks the law applies to him. A new murder leads to a powerful crime figure. Amenadiel fights to protect his family, while a priest's warning about a prophecy troubles everyone.
Through a faith lensHow it connects to the Bible
This episode turns on whether Lucifer can be trusted and whether he can change. He claims that, as the devil, he stands above human law, yet he is drawn back to confess and to answer for a crime because Chloe has seen something better in him. Scripture treats the devil very differently from this sympathetic portrayal: he is a liar and the father of lies, and he disguises himself as an angel of light. The story's claim to be above the law sits uneasily with Paul's teaching that authorities are placed to restrain wrongdoing, and Lucifer's use of intimidation to force a confession does not match the Bible's call to leave vengeance to God. Real repentance in Scripture is the tax collector's honest plea for mercy, not a bid to win back someone's regard. The secret affair that begins between two friends invites a conversation about the Bible's call to faithfulness and honesty, and about hidden choices that wound others. Amenadiel's fight to protect his family can be set beside Joshua's resolve to serve the Lord with his household.
Fruit of the SpiritWhich fruit does it show?
4 out of 9 fruits ripe in this episode
Ripe grapes are shown in the episode, buds are missing
- Joy
- Peace
- Kindness
- Gentleness
Love is shown in Amenadiel's determination to protect his son and in Trixie's worried visit to Lucifer. Patience appears when Chloe calms Lucifer as he nearly attacks Tiernan, and faithfulness in her steady belief that he has a better side. Lucifer shows real goodness when he decides to take Tiernan to the police station so that he can admit what he did. Against this, fits of anger flare in Lucifer's near-attack and in Dan's bitterness, which spills into strife when he tells Tiernan what Lucifer did. Hatred and jealousy colour Dan's view of Lucifer, and sexual immorality appears in the affair that begins between Dan and Ella. Self-control is the fruit most tested, as Lucifer's temper strains against his wish to do right.

How Christians are portrayed
Father Kinley, a priest, appears mainly as a bearer of prophecy, warning that Lucifer and his first love will unleash evil. He is neither mocked nor shown as a simple villain, but the church figure serves mostly as an ominous foil and a plot device. Faith is reworked into angelic family drama rather than shown as lived devotion.
