Watch guide

What's in it?

LanguageRepeated strong language

Participants swear freely in Danish and English, especially in arguments and bonfire confrontations, with the strongest stretches in later episodes such as S1E10–S1E30.

BlasphemyCasual exclamations

God's name is used as a casual exclamation in heated or emotional moments across the series.

Sex and nudityImplied sex, revealing wear

Swimwear, a lingerie party (S1E3), sexual banter, kissing and singles invited into bedrooms (S1E2, S1E8). A clip shows a partner with a single in the other villa, with intimacy implied rather than explicitly shown.

RelationshipsInfidelity as the format

The whole show is built on separating committed couples and tempting them towards unfaithfulness. Betrayal, jealousy and broken trust are the entertainment, peaking in S1E7, S1E10, S1E12, S1E13 and S1E19.

ViolenceNone

There is no violence; conflict stays verbal.

Frightening scenesRaw emotional distress

Bonfire ceremonies confront participants with clips of their partners, leading to tears, anger and visible heartbreak.

Drugs and alcoholHeavy drinking

Parties, drinking games and shots run through every episode, including a tequila body shot in S1E3, and alcohol is shown loosening inhibitions.

AttitudesDeceit and jealousy

Lying, blame, harsh talk about partners and the deliberate testing of loyalty are treated as drama to enjoy rather than wrongs to repent of.

OccultNone

No occult content; the full moon party is a theme night only.

Faith & story

What does it say?

What's it about? The plot, without the ending

Temptation Island Danmark is a Danish reality series in which several couples who are unsure about their future together agree to live apart for a number of weeks. Each partner stays in a separate villa, surrounded by attractive single people whose job is to spark connections. There is no contact between the couples, only periodic video clips of how their partners are behaving, shown at bonfire ceremonies. Over the weeks they face parties, dates, drinking and difficult conversations. The show asks whether their relationships can survive the temptation, and each person must decide what they want from the future.

Through a faith lensHow it connects to the Bible

Temptation Island turns a promise into a test that people are paid to fail. The Bible treats marriage and faithful commitment as something to guard, and it speaks plainly about sexual immorality. Jesus taught that betrayal begins in the heart, long before any act, and the show invites viewers to watch that process for entertainment. Joseph offers the opposite picture: when pressed by Potiphar's wife, he refused and fled, because he saw faithlessness as a sin against God as well as against his master. The show places couples in the conditions Scripture warns about, with alcohol, flirtation and opportunity, and the wounds are real. Paul urged believers to flee sexual immorality and not to flirt with it. Proverbs says the one who guards his heart and walks with integrity stands secure. The heartbreak at the bonfires shows what broken trust costs, and that cost makes a useful starting point for talking about why commitment matters and where forgiveness might begin.

Works of the flesh shown

The show is built on works of the flesh. Sexual immorality and sensuality appear in the flirting, kissing and bedroom invitations between singles and committed partners. Drunkenness and revelries run through the parties, drinking games and shots. Jealousy, envy and rivalries drive the contestants and singles as they compete for attention. Fits of anger and strife erupt in the bonfire confrontations, when partners see clips of each other. Faithfulness is the thing the format sets out to test, and it is rarely seen holding firm.

  • The singles

Attractive single people who live alongside the participants. They flirt, invite them on dates and sometimes to private rooms, and so push the temptation at the heart of the format.

How Christians are portrayed

How we analysed this

We analysed every episode from its summary, its reception and facts that independent sources agree on, and rated each content area against our rubric and worldview scale, using AI models calibrated on reference titles. Each content meter shows the series' typical high point across its episodes, and the score is that of its harder episodes. Not yet reviewed by our team. Confidence: medium.

Series score = the score of its harder episodes, not their average: the hardest tenth of its 30 episodes (S1E12 scores 27). The content meters show the series' high points.
